Super-Dog

Okay so let me tell you a little story about my bichon, Boston. On our trip home to Kansas City Boston was playing up on the deck with Charlotte and Truman. Well for those of you that know "the kids" you know that Charlotte and truman are "portly" so as they are all playing at the edge of the deck, which did I mention is 10 feet high.....I look away and the next thing I hear is a swoosh sound. I look down and low and behold I see Boston......10 feet below on bg of leaves ad sticks. Those portly children had pushed Boston off the deck!!! Besides almost having a stroke, I run downstairs and go retreive him. He appeared to b fine. He was walking normal and everything! The next day the kids swam in the pool and a great time! Well...the next day we mad the drive back to NAshville so Boston appeared to be fine then too, but the following day he started licking a lot and crying in the night. I tried to check him out and he wouldn't let me but he was still walking normal. I take him to the vet the next day and of course I am freaking out thinking how I am going to tell the vet that I am retarded and my dog fell off a 10 foot deck......even more so....I freak at the thought of the vet taking him from me and deeming me as an unfit dog parent! We arrive at the vet, and Boston has scrapes and bruises all around his legs. the doctor gives him injections of antibiotics, steroids, and a pain med that is so potent I can't give him any more meds for 4 days!!! Needless to say Boston was scooting around the house like he was DRUNK for days! He is finally on his last days of antibiotic and doing well! Note to all you out there...beware of DECKS and PORTLY DOGS!

Winds of Change......

2010 has been a year of changes. For starters, I have made a job change and left the company of where I was for the last 5 years. I had been unhapy for some time and there were many changes organizationally that I just really was not a supporter of. I think, when it comes down to business, people are important, and I felt as though I wasn't going to work and making a difference anymore. It appears that more and more orgnizations are looking for the "yes man or woman" of whom they can dictate to. At that point, I feel as though I must question why am I there? If one speaks up, it looks as though it is insuboordination when in fact, it is an intelligent individual giving their opinions. I just don't think an environment based out of fear is the right environment to work in. I have been doing some interviewing though and there are some great opportunities awaiting. I will of course keep you posted.

So.....I have taken the last 2 months and done some traveling to North Carolina and South Carolina to see my sister and her family. Rachel just had a new addition to the family, Paige Blakely Ripley of whom is so sweet. Cooper turned 2 this year, my nephew and he is so cute! He is talking a lot and my favorite word right now to hear him say is "tommorow."

The girls, Laurel and Mary came out as well as my parents for CMA Fest 2010 of which we had so much fun! As always, we saw many many artists and soaked up the sun. We have already purchased tickets for CMA Fest 2011!! This will be my third year!!

I finally read all of the Twilights series books of which I loved and also saw all the movies. Amy tried to get me to read these FOREVER ago....but it took quitting my job to finally do it! LOL

I also took a weekend trip to Tulsa, OK for a job interview a few months back and Amy came to meet me there so we got to hang out there. Tulsa is awfully flat, but overall, seems to be a nice area. we went to May Fest while there and I got some cute jewelry of which Amy and I have joint custody over, but yet the children have not gone to see her yet. :) We saw Cherry Poppin Daddies while there. They have A LOT of energy.

I have a planned trip over Labor Day to go see my friend Abe in Sacramento, CA of which I am very excited for. We plan on going to San Francisco on of the days and definitely hit some wineries. Should be fun!

Well that is all for now......
