New York Trip Has Come and Gone....Just Catching Up

My mother and I met up for a spring trip to New York City March 17-21st. The trip started fantastic where we met this really nice guy at the airport of whom we shared a cab ride with. I definitely wouldn't have minded running into him again. :) We stayed at the St. Giles Hotel in East Manhattan which actually ended up being a great location. The staff was very nice. In fact the guy who checked us in actually had used to live in Antioch TN so we bonded right from the start! Our first night we went to The Empire State Building of which was gorgous. The city is beautiful all lit up at night. I sat on the roof and listened to the jazz band
on the roof and thought about all the famous movies that have shots from up there. It was amazing. Then on to the train station of which was also gorgous and there was some really cute shops in there that we were able to spend some time in. we ate dinner at a local pub that was down the street from the Empire State Building. We had already packed in a lot for our first night! Day 2 was just as packed. We started the morning by taking the subway to Battery Park where we stood in the ridiculous line to head out on the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. Hours later, we finally got on the ferry and headed off to see it. We also took the ferry
over to Ellis Island and got some great shots of the Manhattan Skyline. We then walked down to the financial district around Ground Zero and ate at TGI Fridays and then back to the hotel. For the evenings activities
we went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic. The show was great and we had a fantastic time sipping wine while singing along to Music of the Night. Afterwards we grabbed a late dinner at Hard Rock and had a drink on Times Square. Saturday we did some shopping around town, saw the Chrsyler building, went to Rockafellar Center, and prayed in St. Patricks Cathedral. It was gorgous. My mother and I
grew very tired and headed back to the hotel to take a break. our feet hurt so bad! When they tell you to take comfortable shoes to New York, this is no joke!!! We literally filled the bathtub with hot water and soaked our feet and both layed down and had to take a nap! I don't think Mom ever truely recovered. :) That evening we ate at the Red Lobster in Times Sqaure, Due to my history and loyalty to the good ole Red Lobster, it just wouldn't have been right to NOT eat there. It was 3 stories and by far the best looking Red Lobster I have ever been too. It may not have been bad working at that one! LOL. It even had an elevator in it! To treat myself I had the Lobester Lovers Dream which was delicious. I don't think I left anything on my plate. On Sunday, we went back to Rockafellar center and did the NBC tour where we saw the studios of Dr. Oz, Jimmy Fallon Show, and the oh so famous Saturday Night
Live. Too bad they didn't allow pictures! It was a really cool tour. We also stopped by MOMA AKA Museum of Moden Art which was worth it as well. That evening, we headed off to the best part an that was the Elton John concert. Sir Elton played for 3 hours straight. He was absolutely amazing! It was totally worth the trip. Mom and I were pretty exhausted at the end of it! Overall our trip to NYC was awesome. I wish it had been a little warmer, but hey, I can't complain!!
